“The beauty of any kind of conflict is it gives you a second wind” — Brute De Force
When we encounter conflict, it can be a wake-up call to confront the patterns that are ingrained in our identity that hold us back. Through this simulation, you will have the opportunity to embrace conflict as a catalyst for transformation. Helping you go beyond the limitations of who you think you are. Ultimately, conflict gives you a second wind to express an essence you've too easily forgotten.
Question 1: What identity you have constructed for yourself associated with a conflict you’ve recently experienced? For example, if you’ve got dismissed by an investor for raising money, you may have made it mean that they are stupid and that you are an “idea puritan”.
Question 2: What are you doing, having and being based on this identity? For instance, if you consider yourself a “idea puritan”, what actions are you currently taking (eg. expecting them to get it), what results are you experiencing (ie. low affinity), and what is your way of being in this area of life (ie. wishful)?
Question 3: What are you not doing, having and being in this area that is missing? For example, as an “idea puritan”, what actions are you not currently taking (ie. asking about their problem), what results are you not experiencing (eg. red pill moments), and what way of being are you not tapped into (eg. rawness)?
Question 4: What possibility would you love to experience instead? If rawness is missing for the “idea puritan”, then one possibility may be ‘irresistibility’ which could look helping the investor address real personal life problems in the meeting instead of ‘asking for money.’
Question 5: Close your eyes and breathe. Feel into your body as this new possibility ruminates. Then, as it becomes clear what is is really is, walk me through a moment or location where this possibility is unfolding in real-time. Describe everything you see, hear, smell, and feel, using rich and detailed language to bring the scene to life.
Question 6: Magic. Now tell me more about the specific event in this place that is evidence that the possibility has come to life. For the “idea puritan,” they may have invited the investor to share about a specific block they’ve had for years in their meeting. The event may be helping them see the light after a very dark tunnel.
