“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself:” — Mahatma Gandhi
Sometimes the personas we rely on can become a part of our identity, making it hard to let go and embrace new possibilities. This simulation can help you break free from those limitations and explore new ways of being that align with your true self.
Question 1: What identity you have constructed for yourself based off the patterns you’ve grown accustomed to? For example, if you frequently engage in binge drinking, you may have constructed an identity as a “party animal” that limits your ability to form deeper, more meaningful relationships.
Question 2: What are you doing, having and being based on this identity? For instance, if you consider yourself a “party animal”, what actions are you currently taking (eg. bendering constantly), what results are you experiencing (ie. restless weekends), and what is your way of being in this area of life (ie. powerless)?
Doing: Having: Being:
Question 3: What are you not doing, having and being in this area that is missing? For instance, if you identify as a ”party animal”, what actions are you not currently taking (ie. going off grid), what results are you not experiencing (eg. alone time for self), and what way of being are you not tapped into (eg. stillness)?
Not doing: Not having: Not being:
Question 4: What possibility would you love to experience instead?
Question 5: Close your eyes and imagine a moment or place where this possibility is alive and present. Describe the environment in vivid detail, using your senses to bring the scene to life and feel the moment in your body.
